Summary of Assignments: Following OCS, I married my long-term sweetheart, Judy Wolf, promising her a 3-year honeymoon in Europe. I had orders to Schweinfort, Germany, but only for a short time.  Within a couple of weeks, my orders were changed, and I was assigned to stay at Fort Benning, as a member of the Planning Group to assemble, train and deploy the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. After just 9 months of training, we deployed approximately 4,000 troops to the Republic of South Vietnam. I landed in country on Christmas Eve, 1966!

Thankfully, I earned the CIB, but was not awarded the Purple Heart, and when I came home on December 18, 1967, I left active duty to return to Texas.

I got a BBA degree from South West Texas State University, attending with the help of the GI Bill. Our first child, daughter Suzanne, was born in 1969, while we were students at SWTSU. Our second child, son Jason, was born in 1978.

Jobs/Profession following military: Over the next 30 years, my career included seven years as an Auditor with both the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Texas Department of Health. Other employment included Commercial Banking, School District Business Manager, Manager of Inner Space Tourist Cavern in Georgetown, Texas, and President of Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. Daughter Suzanne gave us our only grandchild, Henry Grieve, now fourteen years old.

Hobbies/Interests: I retired 6 years ago and am an avid golfer. I also like photography and travel.
