Jobs/Professions Following the Military: Since retiring in 1978, he has worked as a licensed consultant providing technical assistance and advice to an attorney and employees in the Federal and private sector work force. As a trained and certified federal investigator, he investigated complaints and grievances alleging equal employment opportunity discrimination. As a Federal employee, Carey has worked for the Department of Labor as an Equal Employment Compliance Specialist (1980-82) where he conducted compliance reviews and investigated complaints of discrimination filed against Federal contractors. Carey worked as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Office, Richmond, VA, where he investigated complaints of discrimination that were in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Equal Pay Act, and Age Discrimination Employment Act.

He worked for the Department of Defense, US Army, the Troop Support Agency, and the Defense Commissary Agency from 1985-2000. He served in numerous positions, such as the Federal Women Program Manager, Equal Employment Opportunity Manager, and Executive Officer for the Troop Support Agency and Defense Commissary Agency.

Carey left the Government in June 2000 to own and operate his own marketing and communications consultant business. He provides communications services and products to both residential and commercial customers. He prides himself for saving people money and assisting people in making an unlimited income working part or full-time.

He is a member of the 555th Parachute Infantry Association, Jesse J. Mayes Tri-Cities 555th Airborne Chapter and has been President of this Association from 2007 to the present.
